Before Your Eyes, one of the most inventive games in recent memory, is based on the straightforward idea that your eyes, via a webcam, control every aspect of the game. The brief adventure game follows the life of a recently departed character that you play as, but the catch is that time advances each time you blink. It’s a great concept that’s been executed really well, and it fits in wonderfully with the concepts of life, memories, and preserving those priceless moments inside of us. Unusual but delivering a powerful emotional punch, this game will keep your attention for the entire duration.
The Case of the Golden Idol
The Case of the Golden Idol is a throwback to classic point-and-click adventure games and an exacting puzzle game. You investigate scenes and then piece together what happened in a linear story narrative by placing names and verbs in their proper places. And if the original release whets your appetite for more, developer Color Gray games has spun off additional “Golden Idol Mysteries” DLC–new stories and mysteries with the same narrative-building mechanic.
Children of the Sun
A sharpshooter with only one round is at the center of the eerie, atmospheric puzzle game Children of the Sun. You stalk around their compounds looking for an angle before firing your shot, determined to exact revenge on the cult that wrecked your life and find their enigmatic leader. The puzzle element arises from the subsequent events, whereby every shot that links to an explosive or cultist object allows you to select its subsequent course. The game adds additional magic bullet effects, such as the ability to gently curve a shot as it travels or even reverse direction in mid-air, making trial and error to find the proper path more difficult.Even though the campaign is somewhat brief, carefully planning your path through each level makes for an incredibly enjoyable puzzle-shooter experience that is unmatched.
Cyberpunk 2077
By many accounts, Cyberpunk 2077’s contentious debut fell short of the high expectations that were set for it. However, CD Projekt Red did not give up on the game; rather, they released a continuous series of updates that culminated in the enormous 2.0 update, released in September 2023, which integrated the new Phantom Liberty DLC and overhauled several critical features. Today’s Cyberpunk is a more refined, action-RPG with a wider range of abilities that allows you to explore Night City in your own unique way. We gave the Phantom Liberty expansion, which added new mechanics and an intriguing new plot with Idris Elba, a 10/10. The best part is that it remains a stunning focal point for your PC setup.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape
Although Destiny 2 has been ongoing for years, the first major story arc has concluded with the release of The Final Shape. Because you can witness the entire plot to the last chapter of this first saga, this makes the perfect moment to play. Despite ignoring the story hooks, the game is always refining and enhancing its modes to create an amazing array of activities. Now is a fantastic time to give Destiny 2 another go if you haven’t played it in a while.
Disco Elysium
Maybe Disco Elysium is the best writer out there. Disco Elysium, created and released by ZA/UM in 2019, puts you in the shoes of a detective who is severely drunk and has amnesia. His search for the truth about a puzzling murder and the aspects of his past he’s forgotten leads you on an incredibly beautiful journey that is fueled by its delectable dialogue and choice-based gameplay. With astonishing ease, Disco Elysium strikes a balance between fun and serious life issues.You can add your own unique touch to this detective novel by influencing the plot and interacting with the diverse cast of colorful characters it features. Its lovely, vibrant setting is made even more immersive by seeing it through the eyes of an unnamed police officer suffering from memory loss. We can confidently state that there is nothing else quite like it in contemporary PC gaming, having received a rare 10/10 rating from GameSpot.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
